Rotary Minute

The regularly scheduled weekly business meeting of Rotary occurred Thursday, August 10th, at Pepperbelly’s, President Buck Gilcrease presiding. Fourteen members were in attendance. The program was presented by Executive Secretary Jacqueline Carlson who gave an in-depth review of Google and Google Documents, how Google can be utilized to maximum individual benefit, and how it is used by the local Rotary organization.

Aleck Newby gave an update on the September Golf Tournament urging local businesses wishing to sponsor the tournament and the subsequent student scholarships to register promptly. The deadline for participation is the last day of August.

Dora Miller again encouraged San Sabans to participate online with In the Kitchen with Jo at pamperedchef.com/party/ dmiller 2023 because the local Rotary club will receive as much as 30% in return for their participation.

Tom Griese reported on the plan for the September highway cleanup west of San Saba on US Hwy. 190, and Kevin Shahan explained that the Armadillo flags in support of San Saba ISD and the US flags flying in honor of National holidays project will again begin in anticipation of the school year and the Labor Day national holiday.
