Fresh Produce - Wednesdays at the Courthouse Square

Dale Rogers from Algerita makes his way to the Courthouse on Wednesdays to sell his produce. I was glad he was still there Wednesday of last week late, around 7:30 p.m., so I could get some tomatoes!

Sometimes he sells in front of Commie's Tacos from about 11:00 or whenever Commie's closes, until dark. He said he's there two to three times a week. If you see the yellow sign, he is out selling his produce.

Dale had been selling his produce many years before COVID hit. As with many folks, the pandemic also effected Dale and his produce-selling venture. And like many others, he has gotten back to what he likes to do - have a garden and sell the fruit of his labor. Due to health problems, he now has to pay someone to pick it for him.

Dale explained he used to have a two-acre garden, but now he is down to a quarter-acre. He said he has about 40 tomato plants.

Dale stated he will sell his produce as long as folks come and buy it and as long as the garden lasts this year.

My husband and I are still enjoying those tomatoes! Thanks, Dale!
