Tracy Young, 59, passed away surrounded by loving family and friends, on July 1, 2023, in San Saba, Texas. Tracy Young was born on August 17, 1963, in San Saba, Texas, to Oliver Young and Mary Hale. Tracy was a master plumber and Jack of all trades. If something needed fixing, he was the one to call.
Tracy loved spending time with his family and friends. Every year at Easter, the 4th of July, and Thanksgiving, he would gather everyone together and bring out his master Bar-B-Que skills. His gatherings left many fond memories for everyone that came.
Tracy was a proud Republican who was very honored to vote and encouraged everyone to do so. The community of San Saba was very important to him.
When it came time to relax, his favorite past time was fishing. He taught many family members how to have patience and catch a fish.
Tracy loved animals. He always had a fur baby or two around. In the mornings and evenings, you could drive by and see a herd of deer in his yard. They knew where to go when they needed a bite to eat and a safe place to lay down.
Above everything in his life, he loved God and believed in prayer. Nothing was done without saying a blessing first. He enjoyed reading his Bible and living his life by the Word.
Tracy is survived by: son, Benjamin Schaefer and wife Lori of Richland Springs; brother, Travis Young and wife Karla of Abilene; sisters: Trina Manning and husband Melvin of Midland, and Trudi Schoech and husband Martin of Oklahoma City; nieces: Katie Thorton and husband Maverick of Kentucky, Jane Young of San Saba, Klynne Odom and Fiance Stephen Cogan of San Saba, Brianna Harrington and husband Chris of Eden, Elizabeth Ann McRae of Midland, Kirsten Wolfgrant and husband Mike of Wisconsin, and Heather Bradley and husband Scott of Houston; nephews: Marcus Young and wife Kristina of Illinois, Jesse Stewart II and wife Leighanne of Richland Springs, Jimmy Whitehead and wife Alice of Oklahoma, Tanthalas Schoech of Oklahoma, Vincent Gowing and wife Kendra of California, and David Patterson Jr. of Indiana; grandchildren: Shyra, Brittain, Israel, Tobit, Zipporah, Charlie, Uriel, and Tuner; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
