San Saba Rotarians had their regularly scheduled weekly noon meeting on Thursday, May 25th, at Pepperbelly’s. President Beth Griess welcomed speaker Tim Brewer, minister of Lometa and Bend Methodist Churches, who spoke to the group on the Emmeagram, an ancient personality categorization found in Judaism, Christianity, Islam and other religions. Of oral tradition, the Enneagram attempts to explain human spiritual characteristics and behaviors as based on instinct (the gut), feeling (the heart), and thinking (the head). Personalities can include one or more type traits like those of the “confronter,” the “achiever,” the “helper,” the “successor,” the “observer” (“thinker”), the “dreamer,” the “peacemaker,” and/or the “individualist.”
New Rotary members Paula Wood and Dora Cisneros Miller were introduced, and business included discussion of the successful May 18th banquet honoring San Saba County Honor Students from Richland Springs, Cherokee, and San Saba Schools. New officers for next year will be installed the last regularly scheduled Rotary meeting in June and will include President Buck Gilcrease, President-Elect Marcus Wood, Treasurer and Flags Committee Chair Kevin Shahan, Executive Secretary Jacqueline Carlson, Board Secretary Anne Vincent, Scribe Pat Johnson, Sergeant at Arms Tom Griess, Education Committee Chair Jerry Blankenship, Rotary Foundation Co-chairs Lynn McHenry and Tom Griess.
