Approximately $315 was cleared at the barbeque and band concert given by the Armadillo Band, stated 'Pop' Stanley, band director. The money will be used to help pay for the new instruments the band has received.
The San Saba Order of the Rainbow for Girls presented a program to the Richland Spring's Eastern Star.
Mr. and Mrs. Francisco Torrez, a boy, Cravele, 6 pounds, 12 oz., born April 28.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Lively, a boy, Royce Elton, 7 pounds, 12 oz., born May 1.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Yeager and daughters Suzanne and Cindy of Villa Grove, Colo. have been the guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Maxwell and her sister, Mrs. Hilly Walker and family.
Mrs. Tanner Farris and Robby of Odessa were guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Breazeale.

The ladies of the Church of Christ entertained the seniors with a dinner party. A scene depicting the graduates facing the crossroads of life and dolls representing their chosen professions were placed on a royal blue base with white carnations grouped at the base of the pedestal on which the graduate dolls were standing. The class colors are royal blue and white and their class flower is the white carnation.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy D. Wisdom are the parents of Misty Dawn, eight pounds, born April 23.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronal D. Burnes are the parents of Katie Ann, six pounds, 15 ounces, born April 26.
Howell-Doran Funeral Home has announced the addition of a new member, Jackie Turner, son of Jack Turner of San Saba and graduate of San Saba High School.
Mr. and Mrs. John Moreno of San Saba entertained about 20 friends with a fish fry at the Canyon Camp. Fish were really biting Saturday night.
The San Saba Lions Club is in the process of holding their annual Mop and Broom Sale and will be calling at your home today, with mops, brooms and other household items for your convenience. If you are not home when Lions Club members call, then come to the west side of the courthouse where the truck will be parked.
Congratulations and thanks to Roy Hight from Major Richard Wall who traveled to Richland Springs to award Roy a 4-year ROTC scholarship to be used at Rice University. Roy's parents are Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Hight. Wallace Fikes, High School Principal was also at the High School assembly where Major Wall made the official presentation. The scholarship's estimated value was $20,000.
As a result of the hail storm in San Saba, residents are cautioned to take care in having repair work, particularly new roofs put on by transient companies who follow storm paths and some of which have given poor service and repairs in the past. 'The City of San Saba has an ordinance which affects transient peddlers, magazine salesmen, solicitors and such businesses which come into the city for a short time and then leave,' Reavis said. 'In case you are approached by someone not representing a local business be sure to ask to see his license.' Reavis said. 'If he cannot produce one then direct him to the city office before approving any work to be done.'
