Mason & San Saba March 19, 2026 Receipts totaled 2,024 head for the week. Stocker steers were $10 to $15 higher with 5 steers 514 lbs at $530.00 ($2724.20) and 5 head 572 lbs at $510.00 ($2917.20). Stocker heifers were $12 to $15 higher with 8 head 589 lbs at $435.00 ($2562.15).

SH 16 Improvement Project

The Texas Department of Transportation has a current roadway improvement project on SH 16 in San Saba County. The work begins about 0.4 miles south of the CR 140 and SH 16 intersection and continues north to the start of the Colorado River Bridge.

The National 42 Players Association (NP42PA) is inviting all to come play the game of Texas this Friday and Saturday, March 27th and 28th, in San Saba, at Casa Del Charro.This 42 tournament will benefit the Meals on Wheels like we’ve done last year.

Sarah Gilligan is 17 years old and a junior at Early High School. Sarah loves the western lifestyle and rodeo community, which has enhanced her life in all aspects of agriculture from the livestock show ring to barrel racing competitions and 4H Horse Club.
