Oh, the vagaries of old age! It comes to all of us, one day at a time! I used to say I felt like I was still 27. Recently, I have begun to consider myself in my mid-to-late 40’s! Ah, me! The mirror does not lie, however! Needless to say, I am not yet “old,” but definitely older! Darn it!

Receipts totaled 3,726 head. Demand continued strong with good activity. Stocker steers and heifers all sold steady after last week's increases with 3 steers 478 lbs at $175.00 ($836.50) and 18 steers 553 lbs at $174.00 ($962.22). Feeder steers and heifers sold steady.

San Saba Eastern Star #191 donated and wrapped gifts for the residents of San Saba Rehabilitation in San Saba. Members of the chapter donated gifts for all residents of the nursing home and then met on December 15th to wrap the gifts and deliver them.

City Council holds regular meeting December 14th

The San Saba City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, December 14th, in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Ken Jordan called the Council to order at 6:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone. Alderman Michael Nelson gave the invocation and led everyone in the pledges to the American flag and the Texas flag.
The City’s Electric and Water Departments won “Best in Show” at the Annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12th. Shown above is the beautiful cars and caboose of the train; the engine was shown in a photo last week. You can tell lots of work, as well as lots of lights, went into this project! Little Eyes are Watching

The Christmas program this year featured one song with a children’s choir. They did a beautiful job, and their facial features and eager attitudes were such a delight. Christmas is such a special time for kids, maybe because the heart of the season focuses on a baby.
