Richland Springs' speed adds up to fifth

Richland Springs scored 30 points to end up tied with Sands for fifth place in the team standings. The Coyotes ran third in the 4x100 relay and got a silver medal from Jadeyn Bryant and a bronze from Zane Capps.

Savio Martinez came to San Saba the first week of March of this year to join Heritage Funeral Homes as Funeral Director of their San Saba office. He moved here from Amarillo, Texas, where he lived for 28 years. Savio said he has always wanted to be a funeral director, even from childhood.

Cherokee sophomore wins gold, silver

Cherokee's Joey Bond won a gold and a silver in his statemeet debut. The sophomore busted his PR by about four feet as he outlasted a “serious competition” for the top three spots in the 1A boys shot put. Three different athletes led the competition at one point during the six attempts.

San Saba Bands Live in Concert!

The San Saba Bands will be performing live in concert for the first time since 2019 on Tuesday, May 18th. The concert will feature all bands from 5th grade through the high school Golden Armadillo Band. Performances will be held in the Armadillo Arena beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Receipts totaled 1,672 head. The market was steady on most classes of calves and yearlings. Stocker steers and heifers with ideal condition sold steady, while fleshy new crop calves sold $2-$5 lower. Feeder steers sold steady, and heifers sold $2 lower.
