American automobile manufacturers produce more cars in a month than the total number of cars now in use in Great Britain.

The governor has signed the bill to abolish hanging. If you do anything now bad enough to be bumped off they'll just push the button and you'll get shocked off–electrocuted.

We understand some parties were made sick who ate fish caught the past few days. It is supposed that it was caused from the fish eating poisoned grasshoppers.

Misses Francis and Josephine Petty arrived home Sunday from Denton, where they had been students of the College of Industrial Arts.

Miss Maud Johnston, a student of the College of Industrial Arts arrived home Sunday to spend her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Johnston.

Miss Lena Tot Cowan the princess of the household arrived home Sunday from Denton, where she spent her second year in C.I.A.

The firm of Rector & Rector have associated with them in the law and real estate business Mr. Graves Hillman and Mr. F. R. Gray of Cherokee, and the business will hereafter be conducted under the firm name of Rector, Rector, Hillman & Gray.

The Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has moved into their new quarters in the Clark building. Their offices are located to the right of the main stairway upstairs, on the south side of the building where they have equipped two nice rooms.

Mrs. John Seiders entertained her Sunday School Class with a delightful outing at the fair grounds Monday night. They all met at the M. E. Church in scout fashion and repaired to the fair grounds where they spread a sumptuous supper. After the supper they engaged in games and music was furnished by a banjo and a ukulele accompanied by low sweet songs which floated thru the air like soft breezes from Hawaii. After the sand man appeared, each wrapped up in a soft quilt and snoozed until daylight when the breakfast was eaten they were conveyed home. All declared they would love to camp forever.

Recommendations from the State Nutrition Council on the home preservation of food are available at the offices of county home demonstration agents.

Mrs. Edgar Jones of Brady attended the graduation exercises in San Saba where her brother, Bobby Magee, was among the graduates.

Pastor of the First Methodist Church, Mr. Kiker will serve the Mason Methodist Church after serving the local church for seven years.

Larry Funderburke is working at the Jeff Byrd Grocery during the summer months.

The Bend public schools closed Tuesday, May 26.

One student was graduated from grammar school. Nelda Lemons will attend high school in San Saba next year.

The teachers of the school were Mrs. Therman Marley of Bend and Mrs. A. R. Neely from Rough Creek.

Rita Jean Locklear and Shirley Rae Spears left Tuesday for Denton where they plan to enroll in TSCW.
