Co-inventor of Flow Hive to speak at beekeeping school on March 26th

Cedar Anderson, co-inventor of the Flow Hive, will join the Central Texas Beekeeping School by Skype from Australia on March 26. His company, Flow, has also donated a Flow Hive 2 to be given away during the school.

Thank you to all who came out to the 5th annual “A Night at the Museum” and helped to make it a success. For once we had beautiful weather and it was a perfect day to be in Mill Pond park to learn about Texas history and support the museum.

Drought and high winds predispose county to fires; 2 structure fires in 3 days in city and wildfires in county

San Saba County Volunteer Fire Department staff received a call Friday evening, March 11th, to a home actively burning at the intersection of Thomas Stewart Drive and East Church Street. A male occupant was able to vacate the home without injuries.

Receipts totaled 2,440 head. Demand was extremely good on a very active market. The stocker steers were $5-$7 higher with 14 steers 389 lbs at $220.00 ($855.80) and 16 steers 521 lbs at $194.00 ($1010.74) and 5 steers 609 lbs at $190.00 ($1157.10). The stocker heifers were $3-$5 higher.
