Hay bales catch fire

A fire off China Creek Road just south of the cemetery, sparked by a tractor, burned several hay bales last Tuesday, June 17th. Fortunately, there was no grass in the pasture, so the fire was contained to the hay bales.

Receipts totaled 3,157 head. The stocker steers sold $2 higher with 6 steers 372 lbs at $206.00 ($766.32) and 10 steers 541 lbs at $187.00 ($1011.67). The stocker heifers were $2 higher. Feeder steers and heifers were fully steady. Packer cows were $5-$10 lower, and bulls were $2-$4 lower.

San Saba bids farewell to beloved Pastor of 24 years

Sam Crosby, pastor of San Saba’s First Baptist Church, delivered his final sermon this past Sunday to a crowd of over 300 as he and his wife, Jan, will be moving to Gatesville where he will be the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church.
