Mason - San Saba ~ August 4, 2022 Receipts totaled 5,201 head. A choice set of calves and yearlings were offered with very good demand on a much higher market.The stocker steers were $5-$10 higher with 5 steers 517 lbs at $195.00 ($1008.15), and the stocker heifers were $5 higher.

At the end of verse 1 in Hebrews 12, we find this challenge: “and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” To run this spiritual race requires physical, mental and spiritual strength. We know that if we are to run our best race for the Lord, we must remove all restraints.

The Bend News

Wow, what a couple weeks it has been! I first have to thank San Saba County Commissioner Pat Pool, Jackie Brister, Ginger Underwood, and Pete and Josh Henniger! What a blessing these people are. Through a collaborative effort, my tree crisis is cleaned up!

Cherokee Happenings

By DiAnne Scott Cherokee’s Meet The Indians was a huge success! The cheerleaders did a great job, and from what I've heard, the ice cream was yummy! Charlie Benskin got his pacemaker and seems to be doing well. Our sympathy goes out to the family of Glen Ratliff after his passing.

The San Rodeo & Livestock Association is excited to announce this year’s annual UPRA-CPRA sanctioned rodeo produced by Johnny Hoyle’s Cadillac Rodeo Company. Performances will begin at 8:00 p.m. each night. Professional rodeo contestants will be competing in the traditional events.

The 2022-2023 athletic year officially kicked off last Friday evening as the San Saba All Sports Booster Club held their annual “Meet the Dillos” at the Civic Center. We don’t think we could call it standing room only, but there wasn’t much sitting space left once the event started.
