Our dear friends Sam and Linda Purtee helped Larry and I move to San Saba, Texas, from Ohio in 2006. They loved visiting us twice a year staying in a camper across from the Senior Center. They developed many friendship's including the Wagner's. Here is a poem Linda wrote and gave to Margie. Pistol Packin' Texas Margie This is the story, this is the scene. | My friend Margie says 'Armadillos are mean.' | Margie is a Texas gal; | one little Armidillo wanted to be her pal. | He came into her yard one night, | he wasn't lookin' for a fight. | Margie stepped through the door | with her loaded Forty Four. | She took aim! The little Armidillo started to run. | Margie shot him with her gun. | If you go down Texas way on a little road called Bend | Watch for flying bullets or it might be your end.
