Together, Llano and San Saba County, have assembled a team to update our hazard mitigation plan which addresses hazards that impact our municipalities. Please help us plan for future disasters by completing this survey regarding natural hazards (will take approximately 15 minutes).

30 Years of Ministry

On November 8th, 2022 Pastors Tom and Cynthia Brand celebrated 30 years of pastoral ministry at The Father’s House in San Saba, Texas. Sunday, October 30th, they were given a surprise celebration by their congregation, family, and lifelong friends.

Scholarships available for CTC truck driving program

Central Texas College (CTC) was recently awarded funds through the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education (TRUE) Grant program which enables the school’s Continuing Education program to offer scholarships.

Purple Paw Parade helps raise awareness for domestic violence

Our last event of Domestic Violence Awareness Month  (DVAM) is the Purple Paw Parade. This is where we march around the courthouse square in our best purple gear to help raise awareness against domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Return of the Topaz

It’s back. The famous Mc-Gehee Topaz, found in Mason County, Texas, by Albert Mc-Gehee in 1904 has made its way back from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Mason Square Museum board member Wibby Shearer, now deceased, was nephew to McGehee.
