Purple Paw Parade helps raise awareness for domestic violence

Our last event of Domestic Violence Awareness Month  (DVAM) is the Purple Paw Parade. This is where we march around the courthouse square in our best purple gear to help raise awareness against domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Return of the Topaz

It’s back. The famous Mc-Gehee Topaz, found in Mason County, Texas, by Albert Mc-Gehee in 1904 has made its way back from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Mason Square Museum board member Wibby Shearer, now deceased, was nephew to McGehee.

Richland Springs Coyotes and Cherokee Indians ~ Bi-District Champs!

The Coyotes played their Bi-District game against Zephyr in Golthwaite, Texas last Friday, November 11th. Billy Perry had a total of 243 rushing yards and 6 touch-downs. Keston Lusty had 95 yards and 2 touchdowns and 9 rushes.

San Saba High School Honors our Veterans

Last week, San Saba High School held a Veterans Day program to honor local veterans. Many SSHS groups came together to serve breakfast before Boy Scout Troop #55 posted the colors for the opening of the program. Mr. Phillip Houck, USMC Veteran and 2nd grade teacher, was the guest speaker.

City Crews hard at work for you

Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Ok, maybe not. But they will do what it takes to make San Saba shine. Literally! Ever notice when you drive toward town at night, you can see the beautiful San Saba skyline? That is thanks to our San Saba City Electric Department crew.

San Saba Fire- Rescue

San Saba Fire was called out to a house fire in the 600 block of Martin St. at 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9th. Early responders were unable to fight the fire initially, due to a wildly arcing downed electric wire, but City electric crews arrived at the scene and cut off power.
