First Annual Wild Game Dinner kicks off as a huge success!

Saturday, November 12th, the San Saba County Livestock Association hosted their First Annual Wild Game Dinner as a fundraiser to support local youth in agriculture. Local supporters, parents and over 50 kids volunteered their day to set up, serve and help run the dinner along with a live auction and raffles. Ross Williams kept the crowd entertained with live music while a slew of volunteer cooks from the community and surrounding counties cooked over 800 pounds of wild game including smoked alligator, fried Oryx, Blackbuck and Axis, and cooked Chili, sausage and jalapeño poppers. Community members and patrons from all over the state came for an entertaining evening, great food and a chance at some amazing donations including personally fabricated items by Cherokee, Richland Springs and San Saba FFA members. The association is looking forward to many more successful years of such a fun event benefiting our youth and promoting the future of agriculture.
