Hello sweet, San Saba loves, and how has life been this past week in the Hill Country of Texas? For us, I was beginning to think I lived at Grand Central Station, and our front door was the main entrance!

The quilting ladies spent three lovely days in Stonewall, Texas, this past week. Kay Huffman has a beautiful hilltop quilting house that accommodates 11 people. You can sit on the back porch and watch the deer come up to the feeder below.

When I attended the monthly 1959 Classmates luncheon in Dresden, Ohio, on June 6th, it was shared that our classmate John Longaberger would not be at the luncheon because he died. I attended his memorial service on Friday, June 9th. In 1958, I dated John's wife's brother, Rodney.

Let’s get a few myths out of the way first. To begin with, cedar is not really a cedar, but a juniper. The one that grows around here is Ashe juniper (Juniperus ashei), or blueberry juniper. Growing primarily north and west of us is Redberry juniper (Juniperus pinchotii).

Multi-County Range/Brush Program set for June 29th
