The varsity football team took on Menard last week in Menard. The Indians led 16-14 at the end of the 1st quarter and maintained the lead at the half with a score of 37-20. We pulled way ahead in the third quarter with a score of 63-26 and closed the game out with a score of 79-34 with 7:46 left in the 4th quarter.
In Cross Country news, Payton Hanley and Ariah Ruiz ran in the Brownwood Invitational Meet. Payton Hanley placed 3rd in the small school/JV division. Congrats to these ladies!
Next week is homecoming, and floral designs mum and garter orders are open. Please order in Mrs. New's room. Spirit week dress up days are as follows:
• 'Merica Monday - It's Patriot Day. Wear red, white, and blue.
• Tote It Tuesday - Carry your stuff in anything but a backpack. Be creative but remember to keep it with you all day. It can't be against our code of conduct. The administration reserves the right to reject any inappropriate or overly disruptive containers.
• Under the Weather Wednesday - We're so good; it'll make you sick! Wear your sickest 'fit.
• Throwback Thursday Eras vs Decades - Swifties or the Fifties, you decide!
• Football Fan Friday - See you under the lights! Wear your Cherokee gear.
We have a PTC meeting Tuesday, September 19th. Please attend if possible. We would love to see you there. We will be discussing ways you can pitch in for the Fall Festival.
