SS County Museum receives new artifacts

Even though the museum was closed in December, it was still a busy place. Besides the county 6th graders touring, several artifacts that expand on our county’s story were donated. Jason Lewis brought two bul-let pencils and a check from the 1910s to be added to the First National Bank display.

Retired teachers honor Elizabeth Johnson

The recently retired teachers of Richland Springs met together at Hacienda Leon for a birthday celebration in honor of Elizabeth Johnson. It was a happy, and just a tad rowdy at times, group of ladies. I can’t say I was prepared for the loud birthday song.

110 Years Ago December 25, 1913 Crogan B. Ransom and miss Irene Taylor were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Taylor, Rev. E. D. Morgan, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. The ceremonies of dirt breaking of the new Methodist church will take place Dec. 24th.
