Is there a reason for hope?

This year our world has been plagued by wars, threats, and rumors of more wars at any minute. Sadly, untold numbers killed and millions fleeing for their lives. Not counting floods and droughts besides all kinds of problems, difficulties, sickness with family, friends or loved ones.

Turkey of the Year Winners

The San Saba High School National Honor Society sponsored a food drive in November and December. Teachers competed for the coveted “Turkey of the Year” crown. The High School campus collected over a 1,000 food items and the Elementary campus collected over 500.

was selected as the Employee of the Month for November. Electric Department Lead Man GT Meador was selected as the Employee of the Month for December. San Saba Police Chief John Bauer was selected as Supervisor of the Quarter for the Fourth Quarter.

2nd and Wallace Church of Christ delivered over 60 meals to those who are homebound or could not get out and served over 100 meals at the church. Some took the meals to go while others enjoyed their meal in the fellowship hall.

Every December, many children write Letters to Santa. Some of the local children send them by way of the San Saba News & Star 'North Pole mailbox' in our lobby. We get them ready for the newspaper and then forward them on to Santa.
