Mason - San Saba May 9, 2024Receipts totaled 4,980 head. A good offering of cattle were on hand this week with very good demand. The stocker steers sold steady to $2 higher with 2 steers 398 lbs at $347.50 ($1383.50) and 12 steers 570 lbs at $289.00 ($1647.30).

HOWDY from Bend, I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend. I got spoiled by my kiddos, and loved every minute of it. It’s nearing the end of the school year, and everyone is seeing lots of family around this time of year, for Mother’s Day and for graduations.

The Commissioners Court held an emergency meeting on May 7, 2024, due to the Countywide damage from floodwaters.They discussed the Countywide Damage due to rain and flooding roadways and areas in the County May 3-5, 2024. Road base and materials were washed away and many miles of roads were damaged.

The Wiley B. Murray Post No. 27 will be the sponsor of a local student of San Saba High School for the upcoming “Boys State” program this summer. Winton Lackey currently a junior, has been selected to attend the program, which be held in Austin from June 9th – June 14th.
