After a much anticipated and very successful RoundUp fundraiser, The CattleWomen will be kicking back and enjoying a lovely luncheon at the beautiful Sandstone Street Bed and Breakfast, 508 E. Sandstone in Llano, on Tuesday, May 21. As always, the gathering will begin at 10 a.m.

Recent Texas flooding is creating challenges for livestock producers and individuals in lowlying areas. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service DisasterAssessment and Recovery, DAR, agents advise producers to be mindful of several resources as recovery activities begin.

HOWDY from Bend, I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend. I got spoiled by my kiddos, and loved every minute of it. It’s nearing the end of the school year, and everyone is seeing lots of family around this time of year, for Mother’s Day and for graduations.

Commissioners Court calls emergency meeting due to floodwater damage

The Commissioners Court held an emergency meeting on May 7, 2024, due to the Countywide damage from floodwaters.They discussed the Countywide Damage due to rain and flooding roadways and areas in the County May 3-5, 2024. Road base and materials were washed away and many miles of roads were damaged.

American Legion to sponsor local student

The Wiley B. Murray Post No. 27 will be the sponsor of a local student of San Saba High School for the upcoming “Boys State” program this summer. Winton Lackey currently a junior, has been selected to attend the program, which be held in Austin from June 9th – June 14th.
