The Richland Springs Report

When this issue comes out on Wednesday, I will be in Dallas at the AT&T Stadium cheering for our Coyotes. It’s an exciting week in Richland Springs. We are celebrating this tremendous achievement. We are also being called upon to be more fiscally prudent. Small schools don’t have large budgets even if they have giant achievements. Championship games are expensive. If you enjoy Coyote sports, I’m sure the coaches, male and female, would appreciate any donation you might want to make. For that matter, if you love your school and want to help keep it fiscally strong, why not send them a gift.

The fan bus leaving early Wednesday morning is full. To see if there are any cancellations, please contact Paige Moats. School will be in session on Monday and Tuesday to allow students and parents to attend the game on Wednesday.

All grades must be in before the Christmas break. Please encourage your students to check and make sure they have turned in all required schoolwork.

Our students did very well at the Youth Fair last week. Results will be posted later. Emma Bryant and Paige Bailey were Grand Champions for their entry on Whales. Angel Cervantes won Grand Champion with his technology entry. We had many first and second awards in multiple categories. Thank you to all the teachers who promoted this event and the students who participated. The exciting news about the youth fair is that next year the new show barn will be complete and it will have a showroom. This means that both events will once again take place simultaneously and participants in the stock show will have to pass through the room where school entries will be displayed. Thank you to the judges who worked to place the contestants and Carol for gallantly stepping in to keep this event going until a new agent can be chosen.

Please pray for our country, for the victims and relatives of those who were murdered at Brown University and Bondi, Australia. We need less violent talk and more love and acceptance. Being kind should be our daily motto. Pray for our sick and elderly shut-ins, also for the Craig Peterson family. We have multiple people in the community facing the first Christmas without a loved one at the table. Please pray for them.

I pray for all who are without family for Christmas, may God be with them and be the guest and family they don’t have. God bless our service members as they keep us safe far from their family and their homes. Have a blessed Christmas.
