The Richland Preservation Society

A short meeting was held on the 17th of November to make sure everyone was on the same page regarding upcoming events. There were 10 attendees. Paige Moats represented the Beautification Committee. Her group has been decorating the town with lights and festive garlands. RS BoHo Unique is prepared for the Saturday event and will offer free coffee to attendees. The bank building will be open to the public. The Soto family volunteered to decorate the bank building for Saturday. The Lusty family volunteered to provide chili for donations only. All proceeds will go to the RSPS for building repairs. The most pressing repair is the roof. Recent rains have caused major water damage to ceilings and floors. Jason Lewis, the society president, is awaiting bids for the repairs needed for the bank building. Once these are done, there are two different groups who assist local preservation groups with restoration. A clear plan of action and proposal will have to be written to present to these organizations. Jason was hopeful that our bank building would appeal to them.

The most pressing need is for a new roof. Although the recent rains were a blessing, they caused damage to the front room of the building.

Plans for the community room were temporarily postponed.

The RSPS page has received many photos from community members. One historian we use for verification is Cubby Pearce. He is a treasure of information. Please keep your comments and photos coming.
