Body

Students at San Saba Middle School celebrated Red Ribbon Week October 26th-30th. Students joined other schools and students across the country to take a visible stand against bullying and drugs by participating in this year’s theme: Be Happy, Be Brave, Be Drug-Free.

On Monday, October 26th, students wore red and were “Ready to Be Drug-Free.” On Tuesday, students said “Peace out to Drugs and Bullying” and wore tie-dye and neon. Students took a visible stand against drugs on Wednesday by wearing Hawaiian attire and received leis as they entered the school and were reminded to “Lei off Drugs and Bullying.” On Thursday, students “Teamed Up Against Bullying and Drugs” and wore their favorite team’s jersey or shirt. The week ended with students wearing pink to remind each other that “Dillos are Drug and Bully Free!”

Daily announcements, classroom discussions, campus posters and videos also contributed to efforts to educate and empower our students to make healthy choices. Daily giveaways included drug-free bracelets, ribbons, leis, themed stickers, vape free phone wallet pop sockets, vape fact message pens, vape fact stickers, bags and shirts. San Saba Middle School encourages all students to continue to make healthy choices to ensure a brighter future.
