Hill Top Plat Application finally approved by Court

The Hill Top Plat Application was finally approved by the Commissioners Court at their meeting on July 22, 2024.

The extra wells were drilled, and the report was submitted. The engineer approved it.

After a lengthy discussion on the Hill Top Plat Application, the question was asked, “What if we do not approve this today?” County Attorney Randy Robinson said it will automatically be in effect once the 30 days were up due to the Court’s previous action on the item.

When all was said and done, all Subdivision requirements by San Saba County had been met. The Court decided unanimously to approve the Hill Top Platt application.

The Court approved a Resolution to Adopt a Llano and San Saba Counties Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan. Marsha Hardy, San Saba Emergency Management Coordinator, explained that each county must have one. This one will be good for five years.

There was a proposal for Precinct 4 to purchase 10 acres of land from the Lusty Brothers for the relocation of the Precinct 4 barn. This is more than is needed for the barn, but it is the minimum that would be sold. The location is ideal. The Court discussed other uses for the remaining land. They also discussed ways to fund the purchase.

The San Saba County Treasurer Lois VanBeck reminded the Court that any arrangements that might include financing or a contract could not go beyond the Commissioner’s term of office. This was unanimously approved by the Court.

Judge Fauley updated the Court on the Community Base Development Grant.

Ms. Hardy updated the Court on the FEMAstatus. This refers to repair of roads that were damaged during the recent floods.

The following items were tabled:

• Statement by Chief of Police John Bauer

• Action to generate an Interlocal Agreement with Richland Springs ISD for Radio and Dispatch Services

• Action to revise Interlocal Agreement with the City of San Saba to include charging for Class C Arrests

• Discussion Elevator Replacement

• Burn Ban Status - Burn Ban remains in effect; to expire September 30, 2024.

The following items were approved:

• Six Line-Item Transfers presented by Lois VanBeck, County Treasurer

• Accounts Payable with two added bills

• Proposed Salaries F/ Y 2024-2025 for Elected Officials - this notice will be put in the newspaper.

The next Commissioners Court meeting will be held Monday, August 5th, at 9 a.m.

The public is always welcome.
