This past week, Judge Sharon Blossman, Justice of the Peace in partnership with the San Saba Police Department and the San Saba County Sheriff's Office, implemented the first Warrant Round-Up in San Saba, Texas. The warrant round-up began on March 20th and continued through March 25th.
During the 2023 Warrant Round-up event, the San Saba Municipal Court handled 29 defendants collecting a total value of $29,487.91.
'I considered our first Warrant Round-up event to be very successful from start to finish,” said Chief of Police John Bauer. “Not only did this event clear many outstanding warrants, it also resulted in the arrest of several felonies which will ultimately lead to a safer community. I feel strongly that this will become an annual enforcement effort in the San Saba area.”
The Great Texas Warrant Roundup is a coordinated statewide warrant enforcement effort to find and then arrest anyone with an outstanding warrant that has been issued as a result of not paying or resolving past due traffic tickets with any court in Texas. It is specifically intended for those people with unpaid traffic tickets that have resulted in arrest warrants being issued.
Annually, more than 300 law enforcement agencies across Texas join in the roundup effort. The results of The Great Texas Warrant Roundup are significant, which is why The Great Texas Warrant Roundup is repeated every year.
