The courthouse clock, which has been out of order for more than a month, is telling correct time again as of late Tuesday evening. Freeman Dacus, custodian, said the motor burned out during an electrical storm in late May. The old motor could not be repaired, but the new one came several days ago, however, the company failed to return a cog wheel that was sent in with the old motor. It came late Tuesday afternoon and the new motor was installed and the clock began telling the time around 7 p.m. Tuesday. Everyone has missed the big "town" clock to tell them time.
A new waterfall recently has been added to Mill Pond Park. This waterfall is located on the east side of the road leading into the park from the main entrance off Highway 190. This pool of water in Mill Creek formerly had been a mill pool. The City had a large pipe installed to make the new waterfall, which agitates the water in the pool and also adds beauty to the park. The original waterfall, which is formed by the water falling over the dam has always been one of the main scenic features of Mill Pond Park. The new one also makes a scenic picture.
