Along life’s rocky road we must expect many chug holes and bumps and we think that we have had our full share of them, but once in a while we hear something that smooths out a lot of those bumps. A lady said to us Sunday, “I want to tell you that I, and many more, appreciate your good communications to the county papers.” As a matter of fact, we try to make our news letters of interest to everyone. From this lady’s say we have been successful to a certain extend, at least.

Letter to the Editor - I keep reading in the papers where the government is going to spend large sums of money for war on poverty and crime. I have long heard that it is much better to doctor the cause of a disease than the effect. The use of alcohol and the enormous amounts of money that is being spent for it, is by far the leading cause of poverty and crime. Perhaps the money would be much better spent for War on the use of Alcohol. San Saba, Tex. E.G. Risien
Next Monday, March 20, is the official 1st day of Spring - time to begin planting flower beds and gardens; time to think about Spring cleaning, after the March winds stop blowing dust over everything. Spring, when trees and shrubs put on their leaves and lawns come to life, flowers begin to bloom, is a refreshing time after the drab winter season. It is the awakening season of the year, when everything looks fresh, clean and new.
