Ms. Hardy reported that our COVID-19 numbers are down, but there was no testing last week due to the weather. The numbers are down across the state probably also due to the weather.

Ms. Hardy stated the arrival of the vaccines has been postponed, but she has not received word yet on a date. Her office may only get three days notice. As of the date of this meeting, there were 59 on the list to receive the vaccines, and people who fall in the 1A or 1B category are urged to sign up.

(Editor’s Note: Time slots for vaccine shots are currently filled, unless you receive a call from Marsha Hardy.)

Attorney Robinson and Judge Theodosis asked when the second doses would be available for those who have already received the first dose. No information has been received on that yet. The 100 doses being sent by the state are designated for first doses only. The Judge asked the timing on the second dose. Ms. Hardy answered by saying 28-42 days. It was reported that the first dose is 89% effective and the second dose is 95% effective. Ms. Hardy reminded everyone: when you go to get your second vaccine, be sure to tell them that you are needing the second vaccine and not the first when you sign up. Some are designated for first vaccines only.

Ms. Hardy emphasized that those exposed to the virus need to be quarantined for a full 14 days. It was just reported to her office that someone woke up sick with the virus on day 14 of their quarantine.
