Commissioners Court calls emergency meeting due to floodwater damage

    The Commissioners Court held an emergency meeting on May 7, 2024, due to the Countywide damage from floodwaters.

    They discussed the Countywide Damage due to rain and flooding roadways and areas in the County May 3-5, 2024. Road base and materials were washed away and many miles of roads were damaged. Worst areas in Precinct 1 and Precinct 2.

    Be sure to log flood dates, take pictures and document all areas of damages. Eighty-eight counties in Texas are in Disasters.

    A Disaster Declaration for San Saba County was approved unanimously.

    Because the storms that brought flooding again this past weekend were within seven days of the Declaration, the Declaration will be extended to include the current flood event that happened this weekend.
