The San Saba High School girls varsity basketball team strung together a couple more wins this past week under firstyear head coach Chris Jost.

The Lady Armadillos traveled just a little south on Texas State Highway 16 on November 22, for a non-district matchup against nearby Cherokee High School and were dominant from start to finish in a 76-25 thrashing of the Lady Indians.

On November 23, for a Tuesday afternoon home game, San Saba also hosted Hamilton High School, and the Lady Dillos used a big first half to cruise to a 53-33 victory over the Lady Bulldogs. San Saba held Hamilton to just 13 points in the first half.

After the Lady Dillos travel to play Menard High School on November 30, San Saba will be off until the following week and return at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, to host Salado High School.

As for the Armadillos boys varsity squad under longtime head coach Mark Kyle, San Saba played its second straight close game at home to start the 2021-22 but again fell 39-30 to Hamilton.

Following the Dillos’ road game at Menard on Tuesday night, San Saba will take part in the Lometa Tournament with their opening game at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 3, against Burnet Smoking for Jesus Ministry Christian School.
