Historical Marker Dedicated on 9/11

San Saba, Texas – September 11, 2025 – On a crisp morning marking the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the American Legion Wiley B. Murray Post No. 27 unveiled a new Texas Historical Subject Marker at City National Bank, honoring over a century of service to veterans and the community.

First Pecans of the 2025 Season

The First Pecans of the 2025 Season were delivered to the San Saba News & Star office on Monday, September 15th. Ernest Reyes, Jr. presented these pecans from the Bagley Orchard at the Martin Place. The pecan variety is Pawnee. Mr. Reyes said, “The meat is 100% good quality!”
