Wedding Oak Winery Recognized as “Best of Show” October 2023

Visitors to our three tasting rooms in Burnet, Fredericksburg, and San Saba, Texas, often ask us, “Which is your best wine?” That is a valid question. We typically ask people what types of wines they like, and to taste a flight of our wines to see which one they like best.

Alice in Wonder Land

On Sunday afternoon, October 23rd, I was in the wonder land of fall in Ohio as I drove my neighbor to see the colorful scenery. I chose country roads with slow and less traffic. To end the two-hour drive, I stopped to get ice cream cones at a drive through McDonald's.
PICTURE OF THE PAST––How many of you remember April 26, 1922? It apparently was a good month for ducks as an official 16.25 inches of rain fell, causing quite a flood at San Saba. Our thanks to Henry Haynes for coming up with this picture that was made into a Post Card depicting the near loss of the train. We are told the engineer jumped, losing his watch in the process.

Rotary Minute

The regularly scheduled Thursday meeting of the San Saba Rotary met October 19th at Pepperbelly's, Marcus Wood presiding. Ten members were present. Tom Griess, a Rotary member and retired State of Texas Assistant Attorney General, spoke to the group on the U.S. Constitution.
