A Wonderful Camp

Seeing all the travel trailers on the road for spring break reminded me of a time we went with some good friends on a three-day campout. It was on a beautiful river with lots of shade trees. We had a little popup camper, but as there have always been RV’s they had a nice big RV trailer. They told us not to bring a lot of food as they had plenty. That evening our meal was going to be a few dried things but not much, and as we sat looking at our skimpy cold meal, his wife called out for us to come on over and eat with them. Not only was she a good cook, but they had plenty of delicious food.

That experience reminds me of something in the Bible. We are invited to join God's camp and become a part of His family. We are invited, (1 Peter 3:18, John 3:16). If we do, there are so many good things in God's camp, (John 5:24, Acts 26:18, Ephesians 1:7, 18). Forgiveness of all our sins! Lots of love, grace, joy, mercy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness and the promise of a beautiful future forever with God.

We have to say yes to join God’s camp. By repenting of our sins and calling upon Jesus to be our personal Lord and Savior gives us the opportunity to join God’s camp, (John 1:12, Revelation 3:20). See you in Church next Sunday.
