I love to visit my good friend who worked in the medical profession for over 40 years. He had had the opportunity to visit with numerous Priests, Pastors, Bishops, Ministers and others. In those conservations he heard many different points of view on various things but especially about the Bible.
In visiting with people about the Bible, we may get different points of view. Some things are very clear, and others are not. And as I heard a very respected and well-known pastor, author and Bible scholar say, “you know there are a few gray areas but not many, and certain major teachings or doctrines in the Bible are very clear.”
A few I have come to fully accept and believe and live by.
First, there is a Holy Creator God that we will all stand before and give an account of our lives.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scrip-ture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,...
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Second, we all are sinners and have disobeyed God at one time or another.
Romans 3:23 ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,...
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God has spoken to us in His Holy Word the Bible, and we are all accountable to do what it says.
Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Most importantly Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life, voluntarily gave His life for us, died after much suffering upon the cross for our sins and arose on the third day from the grave.
Romans 5:8 ... but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
The one and only - our sins can be forgiven.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,...
