The San Saba County Friends of Animals (SSCFOA) is starting 2025 with renewed energy and a commitment to strengthening our community bonds. As we've long known in San Saba, the heart of a strong community lies in neighbors helping neighbors – whether they walk on two legs or four.
The organization welcomes its 2025 Board of Directors, with Regina Baker serving as President alongside Bill Baker as Vice President. Tamara Hoover and Sylvia Donath will serve as Treasurer and Secretary respectively, while Kim Wells, Michelle McKinnerney, and Cyndi Fey join as Directors at Large.
In exciting news, SSCFOA recently welcomed what's been dubbed 'The Stuffing Gang' – a lively litter of Australian Kelpie/ Shepherd/Pit mix puppies born around Thanksgiving. The overwhelming response from community members stepping forward to foster these puppies demonstrates the incredible spirit of our town.
Looking ahead, the organization seeks to expand its community outreach and event programming. A particular need exists for a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) Program Leader. Current program leaders include Kim Wells (Adoptions), Marcie Rawlins (Fosters), Cyndi Fey (SNAP), and Bill Baker (Vaccinations).
Businesses interested in partnering with SSCFOA or community members looking to get involved can visit www.sansabaanimals.com for more information. Together, we can make 2025 a landmark year for animal welfare in San Saba County.
