Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and for ever.” Life is filled with changes, and many times, they come daily. Our health changes, our beliefs change, our friends change, where we work and where we live change, but there is one who is constant and changes not: the Lord Jesus Christ. Malachi 3:6 “I am the LORD, I change not.” Our unchangeable God is the only constant in the universe. His love never changes, His mercy never changes, His grace never changes, and His power never changes.
Also, His plan of salvation never changes. Everything about God is constant. He never has to change His plans nor does He ever have a slip up and say “oops, I didn’t see that coming.” He knows the end from the beginning and bases all His decisions according to His foreknowledge and in total agreement with His Word. He will never violate His word to fulfill His will. His Word never changes: Psalm 119:89 “Forever O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.” Jesus said “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” You can trust your life, your family, your health and your eternity to the never changing Lord Jesus Christ who says, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” And lo, I am with thee alway, even unto the end of the world.” Place the care of your life and eternity into the hands of the one who is the same yesterday, and today and forever.
