San Saba Youth Basketball had a total of 66 kids play this season, all from 1st-6th grade. Our goal is to have all our teams 1st-6th grade to play here in San Saba more next season. This season, our 1st /2nd grade teams were able to keep all their games here in San Saba. It was such a great opportunity for our town to have people come in and watch these kids play and then go out and have lunch all in the comfort of our hometown. Our three 3rd/4th grade teams were entered into the Brooksmith League. Each team did an awesome job and had a great season. Currently, one of our 3rd/4th grade teams is in the playoffs; this team is led by Laura Bessent and Chris Stanton. We are so excited for them and wish them good luck! Our 5th/6th grade team this season has been playing under the MOE Organization where they have had to travel mostly to Brownwood to play their games. Their season is coming to an end, but they have had a great season.
I would like to thank everyone who has had a part in this season 2024-2025 SSYB. Thank you to all the volunteer coaches who have poured their hearts out to each child to help make them just a little bit better than who they already are. I also want to thank everyone who stepped up and helped with clocks, books, officiating the games, and helping run the concessions and refreshment tables. Our season would not have been possible without all our volunteers. I also want to thank and recognize our team Sponsors; each team had a sponsor that paid $150 dollars to help us purchase our jerseys and game shirts. In showing our appreciation for our Sponsors, we wore their business logo on the back of our jerseys.
