San Saba Rotary Bi-annual Political Forum schedule for Jan. 30th

The Rotary Club of San Saba will be hosting the 4th Bi-Annual Candidate Forum at the San Saba High School Cafeteria on Tuesday, January 30th. The Forum will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Candidates from the multiple races will be present and speaking to their desire to represent our community. Candidates from Federal, State, District and Local government have been invited.

In the local Sheriff election all three candidates, Incumbent Sheriff David L. Jenkins, past Sheriff Allen Brown and past Chief of Police and Deputy Sheriff Dwayne “Bubba” Shaw have confirmed their intent to be present and address the voters. Also, San Saba County Commissioners and The County Attorney will be in attendance. On the District level, both candidates for our District Attorney office will be present.

The State level races brings candidates from the State Representative race and the State Board of Education race. The Forum will follow a similar format as has been utilized in previous events. Candidates will be given an opportunity to address the voters and that will be followed by questions presented by the Rotary Club. Local voters will have the chance to present questions to the Rotary Club. Those questions will be reviewed, and select questions will be presented to the candidates as time allows. No questions will be allowed from the floor.

Candidates and their team will be given table space in the school hallway to provide information to the community and to provide a time for one-on-one conversation with candidates and their team.

Residents of San Saba County are highly encouraged to attend and listen to the candidates that are wanting to represent you in elected office. The Rotary Club of San Saba is a service club that strives to make our county a great place to live by supporting the community through our Honor Student Banquet, participation in the Keep Texas Beautiful campaign by picking up trash on Hwy 190 (west of San Saba), putting up American Flags on the major US Holidays and the Armadillo Flag during football season and other school events, and by assisting with donation collections by “Ringing The Bell” for the Salvation Army.
