The San Saba Garden Club (SSGC) gathered on Tuesday, December 3, for their annual Christmas celebration at the San Saba River Golf Course Clubhouse. Twenty-two members attended, along with new member Tina Gunter and her daughter Pearl.
The event was beautifully organized by the Entertainment Committee, including Trudy Hughes (chair), Janis Murray, Gale Ivy, Donna McKinney, and Marti Free. Attendees enjoyed a delightful potluck luncheon featuring dishes inspired by cherished family Christmas traditions, with several members sharing heartfelt stories behind their culinary contributions.
In keeping with the theme “A Family Christmas,” members Juanita Proffitt, Debbie Shahan, Cindy Sloan, and Susan Kissko along with her sister Jan Beaver showcased festive tablescapes decorated with tableware, linens, and ornaments reminiscent of childhood holiday celebrations.
Looking ahead to 2025, the SSGC will kick off the new year with a meeting on January 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse in Mill Pond Park. This special gathering will celebrate the 88th birthday of the San Saba Garden Club, and visitors are warmly invited to join.
