The band competed at the Lost Pines Marching Festival on Saturday, October 8th. The band competed against nine class 2A bands and 11 4A-6A bands. The top 10 bands made finals, so going into the contest we knew it would be tough to make it since we were competing against much larger schools. Luckily, our kids didn’t focus on the odds. They had a great preliminary performance and earned 10th place overall and 3rd place in class 2A to advance to finals!
In the finals, the band had another great performance and retained their 10th place rank. The band had a lot of great comments from the judges, and critiques on what to fix before Saturday's region marching contest in Burnet. On a side note, Area D 2As came out in full force! Three class 2A bands advanced to finals against these much larger schools! Area is going to be a tough contest at the end of the month!
The band competed at the UIL Region Contest in Burnet last Saturday, and the results will be in next week's edition.
