Rotary Minute

San Saba Rotarians held their regular Thursday lunch meeting, July 27th, at Pepperbelly’s; twelve members were in attendance.

The group, which meets for just one hour, selects their lunches from Pepperbelly’s regular menu, and guests are always welcome to visit.

Rotary President Buck Gilcrease presided over the meeting. He reminded everyone that the September 30th Golf Tournament is rapidly approaching and sponsors are needed.

The weekly pot currently has $1,091 and had no winner drawn this past week! Half of the winnings remain with the club for scholarships, and half is awarded to the lucky winner!

Other business at the Rotary meeting included plans for the April Total Eclipse and fund raising activities to accompany the event!

Dora Miller reported that the Chamber of Commerce will be requiring permits for vendors during the Spring Total Eclipse, and businesses should plan on roping off parking areas and access to their businesses as needed. Further, businesses may choose to close to avoid the disruptive traffic.
