I hope everyone attended the Fall Festival at the school last Monday. Halloween is in the middle of the week this year, so there are multiple days to collect candy. There will be another opportunity to collect more goodies on Thursday. Night. Chrissy’s Plants will be offering free hot dogs and candy to trick or treaters and their parents. Everyone is welcome to participate.
Another celebration will be at RS BoHo Unique. This Saturday will be their one-year anniversary and samples of products that they sell will be available for testing beginning at 10:00 am.
They have recently expanded their store, and the new layout is very pleasing.
Lord’s Farms has gone all out to highlight their farm products and improve the look of the downtown store. The city will be taking ownership of the corner lot opposite the Bank building, which means the corner will be cleaned up and beautified. Our tiny town looks better every day.
The fall dance for the school was held in the cafetorium. There were plenty of good foods to enjoy, and the students had a wonderful time. The next school event will be the junior high football game on Thursday, and our biggest district game against Rochelle on Friday, the eighth. There will be a Fifth Quarter following the game. First Baptist Church and Shiloh will provide the food. Let’s have a grand turn out for the final Fifth Quarter of the year.
Saturday, the second of November, will be the time to turn back the clocks before you go to bed. That means we get up and head to school in the dark. It’s been so warm lately that November snuck up on me. The days are getting shorter but not cooler.
Don’t let the time slip away before you get out and vote. If you need a ride to the voting place, please let someone at the church know, and a ride will be arranged for you. Early voting is the easiest way since there are less people daily. The wait is just a minute or two. Whatever your schedule, please vote.
The Preservation Society is going to have another workday to finish cleaning the upstairs portion of the old bank building, and the main floor will be decorated for Christmas. I’m shocked that the holiday season has snuck up on me while I was looking the other way.
Congratulations to the crosscountry team for their regional win. Rylie Eckert took first place, and the team placed second. Our junior high volleyball team had a successful season. High school volleyball will advance to the next level after finishing as District 15 champions.
We have had some great prayer answers and will continue to pray for those who have not yet received healing. Please continue to pray for our country, our city, the upcoming elections, rain, and our area sickness. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families. Have a fun week.
