Thankfully April 1st was not a school day, so teachers around the country did not have to be tricked numerous times. Most of my little ones had cute tricks, but after the 10th “fool” it grew a little old. The kids had fun though, so I guess that’s what counts.
Unfortunately, our one act play did not advance from area competition. My heart goes out to all those young actors and directors that worked so many hours to perfect their play. Mrs. Locker, you are a star and absolute winner in all you do. It takes many assistants to pull off this giant effort, and I hope everyone remembers to say thank you to them. This course has been the making of many young students who couldn’t find an outlet for their unique talents. It’s a great way to find yourself.
The students had to go to school on Monday this week to make up for our snow/cold days. I’m sure it was a shock to their systems. The four-day week was strange the first year, but everyone has settled down nicely to a four-day week. There are pros and cons for a four day week, but hopefully it will allow them to catch up and get back on a good educational level. STAAR tests will show how our kids have progressed. The tests this year will be totally on the computer. We were warned last year that by this year students would have to take all tests on computer. I substituted last Friday, and I can see our students are familiar with their computers. Way to go Coyotes.
The Lady Coyotes summer league team is hosting a fundraiser to raise money for team camps & summer league games. Your donations and help would be greatly appreciated.
All you do is pick a day on the calendar. Whichever day you pick, you would be donating that dollar amount. For example, if you chose the 8th you would be donating $8 dollars. Each girl is trying to fill up their own calendar. Pick your girl, choose your day/days, and Venmo or PayPal @(darachandler).
Jasper Farris is District boys tennis champion and Troy Kubin and Cody Martin placed third in district. Ryleigh Bryant and Reagan Wright are district girls tennis champions. Landry Bryant and Calin Kubin will have a play off for second place in district. Good luck as you advance.
There were eighteen men from various churches and the community who came to the men’s breakfast in the Tabernacle last Saturday. Now that the weather is better, they will be having a breakfast once a month. Everyone is welcome. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Richland Springs Trade Days on April 15th.
James Hammet was taken to the hospital last week with a heart attack.
Unfortunately, James did not survive. His brother Les will be handling his affairs. There are no funeral arrangements at present. Please pray for the Petty family. Jerry went to be with his lord. There are many families who are fighting cancer. Sheila Johnson has been sent home to hospice. Many others are fighting for their lives. Please pray for our country, the Ukraine, our border problems, our presidents past and present, and our police officers who are under constant danger. Also, the folks harmed by the recent storms need help and prayers. Most of all pray for our precious troops and their families. Praise God; we serve a risen Savior.
