The Pierian Club met on Thursday, May 9th, for their final gathering of the year at the country home of Jim and Tracy Farley.
Serving as hostesses for the Hawaiian Luau were Mary Margaret Moorhead, Marjean Alexander, Tracy Farley, Kathy McEwin, Leah Oehrlein, and Jacqueline Carlson. Entertainment for the evening was presented by former University of Arkansas twirler, Mackenzie Gomez, friend of the Oehrlein family. Due to the high winds, she was unable to twirl fire as was originally planned; however, her amazing talent wowed the crowd.
Cissy Williams, incoming president, presented Marcia Dyer, outgoing president, with beautifully engraved wood charcuterie boards. Marcia served two terms as president, starting in September 2020. Her leadership, organization, and humor have been greatly appreciated.
Some of the men attending the Luau were Mark McEwin, Tim Oehlein, Brad Williams, and David Smart. Husbands of the Entertainment Committee helped in various capacities from directing parking to setting up tables and serving beverages.
