Observing contented babies

I don’t think there is anything more enjoyable to observe than a contented baby sleeping in their mother's or father's arms. If you can see their face, you see a look of perfect peace, rest and contentment.

On the other hand, there is nothing more upsetting than to see or hear an upset baby crying. You know there is something missing or lacking necessary for their contentment. Their world may be small and requirements few. Most importantly it is something, not enough in their stomach, and of course very upsetting to them is a wet diaper. It could also be if they are too hot or too cold.

Thinking about those contented and uncontented babies reminds me of something in the Bible. The Bible talks about a peace and contentment that the world cannot give no matter what you have or do, (John 14:27). There is a peace that only God can give, (Romans 14:17). The Bible talks about people who had great problems or difficulties, and they found help and peace, (Mark 5:25-34, Luke 7:37-50, 8:27-36). But they came to Jesus Christ, the only true source of help, (John 16:33). That peace is only available when we have our sins forgiven and put our faith in what Jesus did on the cross for us, (John 14:6, Colossians 1:19 &20). We must receive Christ and the peace that He can give to ever have that contentment. (John 3:16, Romans 1:1-7). See you in Church next Sunday.
