Great news for families who need help with their school-age kids on Fridays this year. The 2023-2024 school year is about to begin, and the big change for this year is the four-day school week. This means there is no school on Friday. If your family is struggling to have a safe, enjoyable place for your children on Friday, this article is for you.
Plans are coming together for a full day of activities, and learning opportunities on Fridays for school-age kids grades K- 7th. Paula Wood is the volunteer coordinator and is working closely with San Saba ISD, local organizations and churches to organize this effort. Significant volunteer support and involvement is needed to make the Friday program a reality. Some of the specific areas of need include but aren’t limited to:
• Volunteers to tutor kids 1-2 Friday mornings a month
• Help with day care duties
• Help with the logistics and organization Just as important, how many kids are coming?
If your kids will be attending the Friday program, Paula needs to know. This is so all the necessary materials and meals can be arranged. The desire is to make the Friday classes available free of charge. The more people volunteer and come together to help, the easier and more effective the day will be for the children.Want to Volunteer? Have Questions? Text or call Paula Wood 325205-7424. Don’t wait.
