Last week, San Saba Elementary School celebrated National Fire Prevention Week with a great presentation from three volunteer firefighters. All students, PreK-3 through 4th grade enjoyed a fun learning experience about fire safety, some important tools that are used, and the importance of 'Stop!' 'Drop!' & 'Roll!,' as well as having a family emergency plan and changing the fire detector batteries frequently. Some of the highlights from the visit were seeing the fire truck up close and having some of the students become 'junior firefighters,' putting on the gear and assisting with the fire hose. It was a fun learning experience for all! Thank you to Mr. Lee Murray, Mr. Larry Hanrahan, and Mr. Juan Montoya, not only for sharing your time with SSES, but also for your commitment to helping to keep our community safe.
