I am no April Fool!
Hello, sweet San Saba loves! I sincerely hope you have enjoyed your week since last we spoke. My servant spoke of a new month beginning, but all that is over my dachshund head, just like time and most everything in this world. Hey, being a dachshund pretty much means a life of looking at people’s shoes or feet if they are wearing flip flops or sandals. No, I am not angry about being short, a low-rider. I get lots of attention; humans fall in love with me at first glance!
I actually made a new friend this week, an enormous dog, named Lena. She and her owner came walking by while my servant was enjoying time on the patio, and it was actually Lena’s mom who stopped because she thought I was so adorable. Lena was not at all interested in saying hello to me until her mom began making such a fuss over me; funny how that works! I suppose dogs are not that different from children in that way; attention given is important no matter how we get it! Lena could tolerate my irritating, jumping and excited antics if it meant she got noticed, too! I liked her very much!
My servant cooks all the time for dad, amazing stuff, because he is so unwell. I tried to pretend I was a bobble head dachshund whose spring broke so she would cook special stuff for me. It didn’t work; guess it is good I love dog food! She tells me often if I had my way, when the sack of food is delivered, I would have her open it and just leave it on the floor for me to access when I want. I would likely weigh 40 pounds and not be able to walk!
Many here have asked about San Saba, where it is, what it is like, etc. My servant spoke to Marsha Hardy, and she said it is changing, has grown in the past year. I really do not know much about freeways, skyscrapers, and all the stuff of big city Houston. My life here exists at The Park at Armand Bayou, a gated, 401 apartment complex with gorgeous grounds and wonderful people, and a forest behind us; not really metropolitan Houston. My servant did say it is extremely different than anything in San Saba, however. I sure hope someday I get the chance to find out for myself. If you were here, I would buy you dinner when the Pink food truck visits, give you popcorn on popcorn day, or just hug you to chicken bits while my servant makes you a great meal!
Be safe this week, enjoy the spring weather, and be kind to yourself and others. Smile even when the reasons seem not to exist; know that your smile will make someone else feel a smile in their heart. I may be a low-riding little dachshund, but I am all love and happiness! LBB
